Last week, our team attended the LI Food 2026 Annual Event as well as the subsequent Parliamentary Evening hosted by LI Food—the Lower Saxony State Initiative for the Food Industry—and Seedhouse in Hanover. Both events focused on innovation, networking, and new ideas for the food industry in Lower Saxony. Under the theme “Innovation as a Driver of the Food Industry,” the annual event offered exciting insights into current developments along the food value chain—from new technologies and alternative raw materials to sustainable business models. Presentations from the worlds of business, academia, and industry underscored the importance of innovation for the industry’s future viability. The Parliamentary Evening followed directly on from this and addressed the question of how new ideas not only emerge but can also be successfully put into practice through strong networks, appropriate framework conditions, and collaboration.
