Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF)
Innovative Technology for Food Processing
Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF) is a technology for treating food with short, high-voltage electrical pulses. This process selectively opens cell structures without subjecting the product to thermal stress—a major advantage over traditional methods. Thanks to this gentle treatment, flavor, color, and heat-sensitive nutrients are largely preserved. At the same time, PEF can make processes such as extraction, juicing, or drying more efficient and reduce microbial contamination.

Gentle Treatment Using Pulsed Electric Fields
Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF) are suitable for a wide range of applications—from solid foods such as potatoes, fruit, and plant-based raw materials to liquid products such as juices, smoothies, and wine. The technology improves cutting and pressing performance, increases yields, supports pasteurization, and helps preserve nutrients and freshness.

Development and Manufacturing of Plant and System Components at DIL Engineering GmbH
DIL Engineering GmbH is actively involved in the further development of PEF systems and manufactures them at its Quakenbrück facility. From mechanical design and electrical engineering to assembly, we produce all system components in-house.
